"Hata Hajafikisha Miaka 20" Nairobi Mum Of 8 Sobs Out Painfully, Searching For Son at City Mortuary After Tuesday Protests

Ernest Kanyi, a young man not yet 20 years old, attended these protests and has not been seen since. His worried mother, whose name remains undisclosed, has been in a state of distress since his disappearance.

Ernest's friends returned home without him, and his phone has remained switched off, intensifying his mother's anxiety. In a heartfelt interview with Citizen TV, the distraught mother expressed her fears and frustrations.

"Where is my son? He is just a young boy, not yet 20 years old. They are going to protest again tomorrow. How can we let them go out alone? We must go out together," she pleaded, highlighting her concerns about the safety of young people amidst ongoing demonstrations.

The protests saw demonstrators storming Parliament, prompting Members of Parliament to flee for safety. The Finance Bill 2024, which passed despite widespread public opposition, was the focal point of these protests.

Many Kenyans believe the bill will have adverse effects on their lives, leading to clashes between protesters and security forces.

Following the unrest, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua made an appeal to Generation Z, the primary group behind the protests, urging them to refrain from further demonstrations.

Gachagua emphasized President William Ruto's commitment to addressing the concerns raised by the protestors and urged for calm to prevent further confrontations.
