"He's Here With me" Ciru Muriuki warmed Hearts, Honors Late Fiance Charles Ouda During Protests

For Ciru, this movement carries a deeply personal significance. During the demonstrations on June 25, she wore a memorial t-shirt dedicated to her late fiancé, actor Charles Ouda, with a poignant caption: “Charles Ouda, you were here, my love.”

Charles Ouda, a beloved actor in Kenya, was found dead on the night of February 3, 2024. His sudden passing came just five months after he had proposed to Ciru Muriuki.

Despite his public profile, the cause of Ouda’s death remains undisclosed, adding an air of mystery and sorrow to his loss. On February 15, 2024, friends and family gathered at the Kariokor Crematorium in Nairobi to bid him farewell.

The ceremony was marked by profound grief, with Ciru Muriuki visibly heartbroken as she said her final goodbyes. Friends and loved ones, including Patricia Kihoro and Silas Miami, were present to offer their support.

Since Ouda’s death, Ciru has frequently shared memories of him on social media, demonstrating her enduring affection. A recent post showed her wearing her engagement ring, which she described as the most beautiful gift she had ever received.

This connection to her late fiancé remains a source of comfort and motivation as she navigates life without him.

Ciru’s participation in the anti-Finance Bill protests highlights her commitment to social justice, reflecting both her personal and public identities.

Her actions have resonated with many Kenyans, who see her as a symbol of resilience and love amidst the political and economic turbulence.

Additionally, YouTuber Murugi Munyi, known as Yummy Mummy, was arrested during a demonstration, underscoring the tensions between protestors and authorities.
