Antony Kinuthia, a recent graduate from Chuka University in Kenya, set out to Dubai in November 2023 with high hopes for a promising career.
With a degree in Information Technology, Kinuthia was eager to start a new chapter of his life in one of the world’s leading business hubs.
However, what seemed like a bright opportunity quickly turned into a nightmare, leaving his family deeply worried and desperate for answers.
Kinuthia’s journey began with the promise of a data entry job in Dubai. He had secured the opportunity through an agency, which assured him of a secure job and a new start in the city.
With dreams of a successful career and a better future, Kinuthia left Kenya full of optimism. Unfortunately, the reality he faced upon arrival was far from what was promised.
Upon reaching Dubai, Kinuthia was taken to Sharjah, where he was expected to begin his role. However, he was shocked to find that the job he was assigned to was not the data entry role he had been promised.
Instead, he was given work that was illegal under Dubai’s laws. This unexpected shift not only jeopardized his safety but also left him vulnerable to legal issues.
Compounding his troubles, Kinuthia’s visa was only valid for a month, as he had been given a visit visa instead of a work visa. The agency had assured him that a new work visa would be arranged by his employer.
Unfortunately, this promise never materialized, leaving Kinuthia in a precarious situation with an expired visa and no legal right to work.
The situation escalated when the workplace where Kinuthia was employed was raided by local authorities.
This raid was a significant turning point in Kinuthia’s ordeal. Along with other workers, Kinuthia was detained and put on a bus for deportation.
The conditions of the bus were extremely harsh; it lacked air conditioning, and the sweltering heat inside was unbearable.
A source familiar with the situation revealed the grim details of Kinuthia’s experience during this time.
The heat in the bus was so intense that Kinuthia and his colleagues struggled to breathe. In a desperate attempt to cool them down, cold water was poured on Kinuthia.
However, this action had an adverse effect, and Kinuthia collapsed due to the extreme conditions. His colleagues reported that his eyes turned white, and he appeared to be in severe distress.
The harsh reality of Kinuthia’s situation was further compounded by the lack of information provided by the authorities.
His colleagues, who witnessed his collapse, tried to inquire about his whereabouts but were met with silence. This lack of information only added to the anxiety and distress experienced by Kinuthia’s family back in Kenya.
Kinuthia’s family, particularly his brother-in-law Stanley Munene, received distressing voice notes from Kinuthia’s colleagues.
These notes detailed the harsh conditions and Kinuthia’s alarming health situation. Munene expressed his deep concern and frustration, noting that the family had no idea where Kinuthia was or what had happened to him after the collapse.
The family is now in a desperate search for answers and has made an urgent appeal to the public for any information about Kinuthia’s whereabouts.
They have provided contact numbers for anyone who may have information that could help locate him: 0720908341 or 0722302170.
Kinuthia’s family remains hopeful for a positive resolution and is working tirelessly to bring their loved one back home.
They are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in their search.
