BREAKING NEWS: Ruto Nominates 11 CSs

President William Ruto nominated 11 Cabinet secretaries.

The nomination comes weeks after the President sacked his entire cabinet save from Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

But as was expected, Ruto opted to pick these politicians saying they had played a key role in helping him and the Kenya Kwanza camp win the presidency.

William Ruto had fired all Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General Justin Muturi in response to youth-led anti-government protests.

Ruto mooted the idea of the broad-based government when he dissolved the Cabinet, noting that the deliberations would assist him in accelerating and expediting the necessary, urgent and irreversible, implementation of radical programmes to deal with the burden of debt, raising domestic resources and expanding job opportunities, among other issues.

On Tuesday last week, the President announced plans for a “broad-based political arrangement” lending credence he could be considering co-opting the opposition Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of Raila Odinga in his besieged Kenya Kwanza administration.

In the meantime, the President said, government operations would continue under the guidance of Principal Secretaries and other relevant officials.

Top on the list of rewards is the vocal Garissa Township MP Aden Duale who has been nominated as the Defence Cabinet Secretary.

Pulsenews.co.ke has learnt that the President is toying with the possibility of a ‘government of national unity’ with opposition figures in his administration as part of his way out of the current political crisis triggered by the protesting youths, who have cornered him and demanded major re-organisation of his government.

Here is the list of the newly nominated CSs

Kithure Kindiki - Interior

Deborah Mulongo Baraza - Health

Alice Wahome - Lands

Julius Ogamba -Education

Andrew Muhia Karanja - Agriculture

Aden Duale - Defence

Soipan Tuya - Environment

Davis Chirchir -Roads

Margaret Nyambura - ICT

Eric Murithi Muga - Water

Rebecca Miano -Attorney General

Ruto said he is confident that his team will play a critical role in the implementation of the Kenya Kwanza plan in the next three years.
