President William Ruto has dismissed all Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney General, except for Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

This major shake-up, announced during a press briefing at State House, signifies a significant shift in the Kenyan government’s executive leadership.

During the announcement, President Ruto explained that his decision came after careful consideration and listening to the voices of Kenyan citizens.

He stated that he had conducted a thorough review of his Cabinet's performance, weighing both their achievements and challenges.

"Upon reflection and listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said and after holistic appraisal of the performance of my Cabinet and its achievements and challenges, I have today, in line with the powers given to me, decided to dismiss with immediate effect all the CSs and AG except the PCS and CS for Foreign Affairs. The office of the Deputy President is not affected in any way," Ruto said.

This decision leaves a significant gap in the government as it waits to see who will be appointed to fill these crucial positions.

The sudden dismissal of Cabinet Secretaries, who head various government ministries, could lead to temporary disruptions in government operations.

However, retaining Musalia Mudavadi as the Prime Cabinet Secretary suggests that Ruto still values stability in the higher ranks of his administration.

Mudavadi, a seasoned politician, has been a key ally of President Ruto. His retention indicates that Ruto seeks continuity and experienced leadership in navigating the upcoming transition. This move also highlights the President's reliance on trusted advisors during this period of change.

The news has generated mixed reactions from the public and political analysts. Supporters of President Ruto applaud the decision, viewing it as a bold step towards addressing inefficiencies and corruption within the government. They believe that the President’s actions reflect his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and improving governance.

On the other hand, critics argue that the mass dismissal could lead to instability and disrupt ongoing government projects and services. They express concerns over the lack of experienced leaders in key positions and the potential delays in policy implementation.

In the coming days, President Ruto is expected to nominate new individuals to fill the vacant Cabinet positions. This process will be closely watched by both the public and political observers, as the new appointees will play a crucial role in shaping Kenya’s future. The President's choices will be scrutinized for their competence, integrity, and alignment with the government’s goals.
