Nairobi - In a chilling development, Collins Jumaisi Khalucha has been arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in connection with the brutal murders of 42 women in Mukuru Kwa Njenga over the past two years.
Khalucha's arrest has left the nation in shock, as he confessed to the heinous crimes and was discovered to be planning further attacks at the time of his apprehension.
Khalucha was detained in Kayole following a meticulous investigation by the DCI, which led detectives to his residence in Kware.
The house, located just 100 meters from a dumpsite where many of the victims' bodies were found, contained critical evidence, including nylon sacks used to conceal the bodies. This discovery was pivotal in linking Khalucha to the murders.
"As we were apprehending him last night, he was in the process of luring another victim by the name of Susan," the DCI chief revealed. "We are yet to locate Susan to hear her side of the story.
We are dealing with a dangerous individual, a psychopath who shows no regard for human life."
The Mukuru Kwa Njenga killings have horrified the community and drawn national attention. The scale and brutality of the crimes have raised serious concerns about security and the effectiveness of law enforcement in protecting vulnerable populations.
The DCI's swift action in apprehending Khalucha is seen as a critical step towards addressing these concerns and bringing a sense of justice to the victims' families.
The investigation into Khalucha's activities has been extensive and complex. Detectives pieced together evidence from multiple crime scenes, interviewed witnesses, and analyzed forensic data to build a case against him. The discovery of the bodies in the Kware dumpsite was a turning point, providing crucial leads that ultimately led to his capture.
In the wake of Khalucha's arrest, the DCI has intensified efforts to uncover the full extent of his crimes and identify any additional victims.
Authorities are also working to ensure the safety of potential targets like Susan, emphasizing the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in preventing further tragedies.
The revelation that Khalucha was planning to lure another victim has heightened public fear and outrage.
Community leaders and organizations have called for increased measures to protect vulnerable individuals, particularly women and children, from similar threats.
There is a growing demand for more robust security protocols and better support systems for those at risk.
