ODM leader Raila Odinga now says President William Ruto is free to pick some experts from the opposition to join his Kenya Kwanza government.

But Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Members of Parliament in his party to reject the appointment of ODM members nominated for Cabinet Secretary positions.

Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has reiterated his stance that he won't join forces with President William Ruto in the government of national unity.

The opposition leader said all that he wants is a new Kenya following weeks of anti-government protests across the country.

The Azimio co-principal told members of his party not to approve the appointment of the four when they will appear in parliament for vetting.

Raila has faced a barrage of criticism after he endorsed the nomination of ODM luminaries into Cabinet despite insisting that the party had no deal with Ruto's UDA.

“Those four names (Mbadi, Oparanya, Joho a nd Wandayi), when they come to parliament for vetting, Wiper members should vote ‘No’,” Kalonzo told Wiper legislators at Kyuso Full Gospel Church on Sunday.

Mbadi was given the Treasury docket, Energy and Petroleum went to Wandayi, Oparanya got Cooperatives and MSME Development while Joho was handed the Ministry of Mining and Blue Economy.

Kalonzo questioned how the four Cabinet nominees would work in a government that they strongly opposed on grounds of oppressing Kenyans.

The reaffirmation comes at a time the Azimio coalition is facing split due to the diverse opinion on whether or not to work with Ruto.

Raila maintained that the nomination of the four ODM luminaries should not be perceived that he is the one who took them there adding that he only set them free to go and work for the people of Kenya.

He also argued that as a principal in Azimio, he was not consulted before the appointments were made, yet one of the nominees, Opiyo Wandayi, is the coalition’s minority whip in the National Assembly.

Atwoli has also praised Generation Z for actively fighting for the country's rights, stating that COTU supports the youth and their causes.

The former Vice President was speaking during the symbolic ceremony for Priesthood for Prophetess Leah Overflow at the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa in Kihome, Othaya constituency, Nyeri county.

Kalonzo has also said he is not interested in joining the government as a CS stating he'll stick with the Gen z's on fighting for a better country.

He urged those in labor movements to mentor young people who will eventually take over leadership roles as they prepare for their exit. Atwoli emphasised the need to teach young people about advocacy and activism to ensure they remain relevant.

While faulting ODM members for their decision to take up leadership positions in Kenya Kwanza, Kalonzo has stated he has no interests in working under President William Ruto’s government.

Further, Raila wished those who had been nominated all the best in their work noting that the nominees were competent and would contribute to the country's growth.
