In Mwingi town residents were shocked to find the lifeless body of a man hanging from a tree on Monday morning.

The incident, suspected to be a case of suicide, has left the community reeling with questions and sadness.

According to reports from local sources, the man, whose identity remains unknown as he did not carry any identification documents, was found with only Ksh. 800 in his pocket.

Evans Makwatta, a resident who witnessed the tragic event, recounted that the deceased had been seen earlier in a bushy area, seemingly surveying his surroundings. Makwatta mentioned that the man's purpose for being there was unclear to those who noticed him.

"He went around looking at the trees but I did not know his mission," Makwatta stated.

Moments later, Makwatta heard a faint cry and hurried back to investigate, only to discover the man hanging from a tree, struggling for breath.

Despite efforts by nearby residents to rescue him, their attempts were in vain, and the man tragically passed away.

Reports suggest that the man had vomited, leading to suspicions that he might have ingested poison. This detail has prompted further investigation by local authorities, who were notified promptly following the grim discovery.

The body has since been transported to the morgue pending official procedures and an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

In a separate story, detectives are investigating the cause of the death of a 28-year-old man whose body was discovered in his house in the Umoja Two area, Nairobi.

The body of Joseph Wafula was found in his house after he went missing for three days. His body was found on Wednesday, May 8.
