Billy Mwangi, a 28-year-old IT professional from Nairobi, has embarked on a deeply personal and emotional journey to find his biological father, Cosmas Achieng', whom he has never met.

His story is one of longing, resilience, and a desire to fill a significant void that has persisted throughout his life.

Billy's parents met and fell in love in Voi nearly three decades ago. However, their relationship was not destined to last. Shortly after Billy's birth, his parents separated due to undisclosed disagreements.

His mother, carrying the weight of single parenthood, moved back to her patrimonial home in Nyeri County, where she raised Billy on her own.

She remained unmarried until her passing in 2017, dedicating her life to her son but leaving him with unanswered questions about his paternal lineage.

Growing up without his father, Billy faced numerous challenges. The absence of a father figure left him to navigate many aspects of life on his own.

Reflecting on his childhood, Billy expressed a deep sense of loss and curiosity about the man he never had the chance to know.

"There are so many things I had to figure out by myself," he shared. "I often wondered how different my life would have been if my father had been there to guide me."

Despite these challenges, Billy has built a successful career in Information Technology. Yet, professional achievements have not been able to fill the emotional void left by his father's absence.

The longing to connect with his father has only grown stronger with time. "I want to meet my father, not just for myself, but to understand my roots and share my life's journey with him," Billy emphasized. "It's about having someone to talk to and share experiences with, someone who shares my blood."

Billy's mother, before her passing, told him a few details about his father. Cosmas Achieng' had worked in a pharmacy before venturing into selling shoes.

However, these fragments of information were not enough to lead Billy to his father. His mother also changed his surname to Mwangi after their separation, further complicating his search.

The desire to find his father is not just about closure for Billy; it's also about breaking the cycle for his own children. Billy is a devoted father of two and is determined to be the kind of father he never had.

"My experience growing up without a father was tough," he admitted. "I don't want my children to go through what I did. I want to be there for them, to guide them, and to support them in every way I can."

Billy's journey has been filled with moments of reflection and hope. He often imagines what it would be like to meet his father, to have a heart-to-heart conversation, and to hear stories about his father's life.

"I believe my life would have been different with my father around," Billy said. "There are struggles I went through that I might have avoided, and there are lessons I learned the hard way that he could have taught me."

Billy hopes that by sharing his story, someone who knows Cosmas Achieng' or has information about him will come forward.

He is reaching out to the community, appealing for any leads that might help him reconnect with his father. His plea is simple and heartfelt: to finally meet the man who is a part of his identity, to fill the gap that has remained open for so long.
