Nakuru, Kenya – July 14, 2024: The normally serene town of Nakuru has been engulfed in shock and sorrow following the tragic death of Eileen Cherotich, a 22-year-old college student.

The young woman, who was studying business at the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology, died under harrowing circumstances after reportedly being thrown out of a moving car during an altercation with her boyfriend.

This heartbreaking incident has not only brought immense grief to her family and friends but has also triggered widespread outrage and protests among the student community and residents.

On the fateful night, Eileen Cherotich was returning home after a night out with friends. It was supposed to be an ordinary night, but it quickly turned into a nightmare.

According to initial police reports, Cherotich and her boyfriend had a heated argument inside the car. The situation escalated drastically, resulting in Cherotich being pushed out of the moving vehicle. The injuries she sustained from this fall proved fatal.

Authorities were quick to respond to the incident. The Nakuru West police station has detained three suspects, including Cherotich’s boyfriend, and seized the vehicle involved in the incident.

Eileen Cherotich’s body has been taken to the Nakuru County Referral Hospital Mortuary.
