President William Ruto has embarked on a series of rallies across Kenya, promising various developments and projects to improve the lives of Kenyans.

In the past week, he has traveled from Nakuru County to Tharaka Nithi and the Coast, making numerous pledges aimed at addressing local issues and boosting the economy.

Promises in Nakuru County

President Ruto began his tour in Nakuru County, where he promised to revive the Kazi Mtaani program.

This program, initially launched by his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, provided employment opportunities for the youth through community-based projects.

The revival of Kazi Mtaani is seen as a step towards reducing youth unemployment and improving the local infrastructure.

Development Tour in Tharaka Nithi

Next, the President traveled to Tharaka Nithi County, where he made stops in Maara, Chuka Igambang'ombe, and Tharaka.

At each stop, he highlighted the government's commitment to addressing the water shortage in the region.

He announced that 180 million shillings would be allocated to water projects in Chogoria, Chuka, Kathwana, and Marimanti.

These projects are expected to improve water access for households and support local agriculture.

Weekend Tour of the Coast

Following his visit to Tharaka Nithi, President Ruto flew to Mombasa for a weekend-long tour of the Coast region.

In Mvita Constituency, he was warmly received by enthusiastic crowds following the nomination of Ali Hassan Joho as the Mining Cabinet Secretary.

President Ruto announced an 800 million shilling fund for the fishermen of Mombasa, aiming to boost the local fishing industry, which is a vital part of the region's economy.

Tackling Corruption

During his speeches, the President also emphasized his administration's commitment to fighting corruption.

He promised that corruption cases would be resolved within six months instead of dragging on for years. This move is intended to enhance accountability and ensure that justice is served promptly.

Focus on Cotton Farming in Kwale County

On Saturday, President Ruto visited Kwale County, where he focused on revitalizing the cotton farming sector.

He promised more funding for cotton farmers, who have struggled to sustain their livelihoods due to various challenges.

By providing seeds and support for local production, the President aims to reduce Kenya's reliance on imported cotton and boost local industries.

He also pledged to build six new ginneries across the country, which would process raw cotton into usable materials, creating jobs and stimulating the local economy.

Continuing the Tour in Taita Taveta

The President's tour of the Coast region will continue on Sunday in Taita Taveta County. While details of his promises there are yet to be revealed, it is expected that he will address local issues and outline development plans similar to those made in other regions.

While President Ruto's promises have been well-received by many, there is also skepticism about the implementation of these projects.

Kenyans are keen to see whether these promises will be fulfilled, given the history of unfulfilled pledges by past administrations. The key challenge will be translating these promises into tangible actions that benefit the people.
