In Kilimagodo, Lunga-Lunga, Kwale County, a 30-year-old woman named Mlongo Mriphe Munga lost her life on Sunday night. 

The victim was allegedly stabbed multiple times by her ex-husband, Maita Mwaka, who reportedly invaded her home when she visited. 

The tragic event unfolded around 7:45 pm, leaving the community in shock and prompting a police investigation.

According to reports from the scene, Mlongo suffered stab wounds to her chest and left hand, injuries that proved fatal despite efforts to save her. 

After committing the crime, Maita Mwaka fled from the scene, evading immediate capture.

The police have since launched a rigorous manhunt to apprehend him and bring him to justice.

The motive behind this horrific act, as revealed by the authorities, appears to stem from a love triangle. 

Residents of Kwale County have been urged to collaborate with law enforcement to provide any pertinent information that could assist in locating the perpetrator. 

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Msambweni County Referral Mortuary for postmortem examination, a necessary step in the legal process. 

Meanwhile, the local police continue their efforts to piece together the events leading up to the tragic incident and gather evidence to support the case.

OCPD Selina Kiluga, speaking on behalf of the authorities, emphasized the zero-tolerance policy towards violence and assured the public that those found responsible for such crimes will face the full force of the law.
