Kenyan man who traveled to Dubai for work but was found dead after enduring months of torture a tragic story has emerged involving Anthony Gichua Kinuthia.
Kinuthia, a graduate of Chuka University, had sought better opportunities abroad but instead faced a nightmare.
Kinuthia's journey began with high hopes. He went to Dubai looking for a job that promised better prospects than those available in Kenya.
His sister, Mercy, shared that the job he was offered did not match the expectations set by his agent. Instead of a respectable position, Kinuthia's work involved online scamming—a far cry from what was promised.
Mercy explained that her brother's life in Dubai quickly turned grim. Despite staying in regular contact with his family, Kinuthia suddenly went silent.
This disappearance caused immense worry for his family back home. Mercy and her family tried tirelessly to find him, investing money into various leads but to no avail.
According to Mercy, Kinuthia's situation deteriorated after authorities in Dubai raided the place where he was staying. The authorities reportedly rounded up those present and transported them to a remote location far from the city. There, Kinuthia and others were subjected to severe torture.
Mercy described the last days of her brother’s life with profound sorrow. She said that Kinuthia had expressed a desire to return home because life in Dubai had become unbearable.
He had confided in her about the harsh realities he faced, contrasting sharply with the promises made by the job agent. The conditions in Dubai, she said, made him long for home, where he believed he could better endure hardship.
The family’s attempts to trace Kinuthia proved unsuccessful despite their best efforts. The anguish of not knowing his whereabouts was compounded by the financial strain of following false leads.
Eventually, they learned of his death through heartbreaking channels, confirming that he had suffered an excruciating end.
Mercy revealed that her brother’s body was found in a condition so severe that he was unrecognizable, a reflection of the brutal treatment he endured.
