"Imekwama Kwa Mfupa" Nairobi Woman Attacked at Home Recounts Living With Bullet In Skull

In Nairobi, a tragic story has unfolded involving Ann Wanjiru, a woman who endured a horrifying attack right outside her home.

The incident occurred on February 18, 2015, when Wanjiru was preparing to meet her boyfriend.

According to her account, as she was about to leave, a masked man confronted her at the gate of her residence. The attacker, armed with a gun, stole her purse and then violently assaulted her.

Wanjiru’s recounting of the ordeal reveals a scene of intense violence. The attacker initially grabbed her purse and threw it away before dragging her out of the gate.

He then pulled out a gun and began questioning her, asking her name multiple times. In a shocking turn of events, he first shot her in the hand. Despite her desperate attempt to see his face, he then shot her in the head.

Wanjiru fell to the ground, only to be shot twice more in the legs. The attack left her with severe injuries and emotional trauma.

In the aftermath, Wanjiru’s teenage son came to her aid after hearing the commotion. He helped her back into the house, where neighbors quickly arrived and sought medical help.

Wanjiru was rushed to the hospital, but doctors decided against removing the bullet lodged in her skull, fearing that surgery might cause further complications. As a result, she lives with the bullet still inside her head, a constant reminder of that horrific night.

This brutal attack on Wanjiru highlights a broader issue of violence and crime that has plagued many urban areas. Despite the community's support and the ongoing search for the perpetrator, such incidents continue to impact countless lives, leaving victims with physical and psychological scars.

Meanwhile, in Dubai, another tragic story has emerged involving Anthony Gichua Kinuthia, a Kenyan who went abroad seeking better job opportunities.

Kinuthia, a graduate from Chuka University, traveled to Dubai with high hopes for a prosperous future. Unfortunately, his dreams were shattered, and his life came to a tragic end.

Kinuthia’s family in Kenya had been eagerly waiting for updates about his new life abroad. They had frequent communication with him until suddenly, he went silent.

Concerned for his safety, they tried to track him down but were met with numerous challenges. Kinuthia’s sister, Mercy, shared the heartbreaking details of her brother’s fate.

According to her, Kinuthia was subjected to torture by authorities in Dubai. The family learned that Kinuthia’s job in Dubai involved online scamming, a situation far different from what was promised to him by his agent.

Mercy described the agonizing process of searching for her brother, which included spending money on leads that ultimately proved unhelpful. She recounted the pain of discovering that her brother had been tortured to death.

Kinuthia was reportedly taken to a remote location far from the city, where he was subjected to severe mistreatment. His family was devastated by the news, particularly because he had expressed a desire to return home due to the harsh conditions he faced.

The tragedy in Dubai mirrors the harsh realities faced by many individuals seeking better opportunities abroad. The promises made by employment agents sometimes lead to situations where workers are exploited and mistreated, leaving their families in a state of distress and helplessness.
