Jabidii, a well-known gospel singer in Kenya, and his mother have recently become the talk of social media.

Their collaborative song, "Miel Matin," has not only inspired many with its message but has also sparked viral dance challenges on TikTok, bringing their story to a wider audience.

Behind the music, there's a touching tale of a mother's resilience and a family's unwavering bond.

Jabidii's mother, now 66 years old, has opened up about the struggles she faced while raising her children.

After the death of her husband in 2013, she found herself solely responsible for the upbringing of their seven children.

This journey was anything but easy. In a recent interview with YouTuber Trudy Kitui, she shared the challenges she faced, including the inability to afford university education for her children due to financial constraints.

"The far I have come with my children has not been easy," she said. "That is why I sang, 'The lion is guiding my house; that is why I am not scared, even if hyenas lurk.' I will continue to spread the gospel because the journey we have taken was not easy."

The loss of her husband was a significant turning point. Without a partner to share the financial burden, Jabidii's mother had to take on multiple blue-collar jobs to make ends meet.

Despite her best efforts, sending her children to university was beyond her means. However, she remained hopeful and grateful for the support and love from her community and family.

"I had eight kids, but one passed on," she revealed. "A woman looks for the children's food and educates them until Form Four. My kids did not go to campus because there was no job that I could do to manage. It was just blue-collar jobs. But I thank God for taking care of me for 66 years as I take care of my kids."

In recent times, Jabidii's mother has received immense love and support from Kenyans. Her musical talent, showcased in her collaboration with her son, has won the hearts of many.

Social media users have been particularly vocal, praising her resilience and expressing their admiration for the bond between her and Jabidii.

Comments from social media reflect this admiration. One user, @Janet Kadide, commented, "Jabidii is so proud of his mum, and he loves her so much." Another user, @Norah_yrron, noted, "It's the way Jabidii looks at the mum and smiles."

These sentiments are echoed by many others who see the deep connection between the singer and his mother as a source of inspiration.

Jabidii himself has expressed profound gratitude and love for his mother. In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, he recalled how his mother supported his musical ambitions from the very beginning.

She paid for his first studio session, and together they recorded a song. This act of support not only set Jabidii on his path to success but also strengthened their bond.

Jabidii also shared plans to help his mother further her career in music. He revealed that she has performed for top world leaders as a dancer and that their collaboration on "Miel Matin" has inspired him to stick to local sounds, which he finds more authentic.

"The way you look at her, she can prophesy very well," commented @Artiste, acknowledging her talent beyond music.

The story of Jabidii and his mother resonates with many people, particularly those who have faced similar challenges. Despite the hardships, Jabidii's mother never gave up. She continued to work hard, guided by her faith and love for her family.

The recent attention and support from the public have been overwhelming for her. She expressed her gratitude, saying, "I thank God for taking care of me for 66 years as I take care of my kids."

In the words of social media user @Yvonne, "We love you, Mama Jabidii." And indeed, their story of love, resilience, and music continues to inspire many across Kenya and beyond.
