According to Kuria, the dissatisfaction expressed by Oparanya may not be an isolated incident. He believes that other Cabinet Secretaries from ODM might also have their own political ambitions, which could lead them to step down from their government positions as the 2027 elections draw closer.

In an interview with Citizen TV, Kuria elaborated on his views, expressing both concern and understanding about the potential departures of these key government officials.

"I think they will walk out at some point," Kuria said. "They have their interests for 2027. So I just hope that aside from having their interests, they'll not forget that this is not a laboratory. This is a real country."
Kuria’s comments also touch on a recurring theme in Kenyan politics—the uneasy balance between political alliances and national governance. The inclusion of opposition members in the government, particularly those from ODM, was seen as a move towards greater political inclusivity.
