On August 7, 2024, actress Nyaboke Moraa, best known for her role in the popular Kenyan TV show Tahidi High, faced a deeply emotional moment as she attempted to eulogize her daughter, Marie, who tragically passed away on July 28.

The memorial service for Marie was a heart-wrenching occasion, marked by Nyaboke’s profound grief and struggle to convey her feelings.

Nyaboke, a mother of four, was joined at the podium by her sisters, who offered their support during the somber event.

As she began her speech, it was clear that the weight of her loss was almost too much to bear. Her attempt to honor her daughter’s memory was both moving and heartbreaking, underscoring the depth of her sorrow.

“My heart is broken,” Nyaboke said, her voice choked with emotion. She tried to recount the cherished memories she had with Marie, but the pain was so overwhelming that she struggled to continue. “We had very beautiful memories,” she reminisced, but the burden of Marie’s absence made it difficult for her to express the full extent of her feelings.

Throughout her life, Nyaboke has faced various challenges, but the loss of her daughter seemed to be the most profound. She shared how Marie had always been a source of strength and encouragement for her.

Whenever Nyaboke was feeling down, Marie’s words of support would lift her spirits. “Marie was a good child,” Nyaboke said, highlighting the positive impact her daughter had on her life. The loss of such a supportive and loving child was a heavy blow that Nyaboke admitted she had not yet come to terms with.

As Nyaboke spoke, her struggle to find the right words was evident. She said, “I don’t know how I am going to release my child.” Her difficulty in accepting the reality of Marie’s death was apparent, and she found it hard to express her final farewell. “I have no energy to tell her to rest in peace,” Nyaboke admitted.

Despite the somber atmosphere, the memorial also saw expressions of gratitude and support from Marie’s friends and family. One of Marie’s childhood friends took the opportunity to thank Nyaboke and her partner, Blak Aende, for their love and dedication as parents.

This public acknowledgment highlighted the positive influence Nyaboke and Blak had on Marie’s life, reinforcing the respect and admiration they earned from those who knew them well.

Nyaboke Moraa’s heartfelt tribute to her daughter was a testament to the strong bond they shared.

Her public display of grief not only reflected the deep personal loss she experienced but also served as a poignant reminder of the universal pain of losing a loved one.

The courage it took for her to speak, even briefly, about her daughter’s impact on her life was a moving example of a mother’s love and the difficulty of saying goodbye.

The memorial for Marie was not just an event to remember a young life lost but also a celebration of the love and joy Marie brought to those around her.

Nyaboke’s words, though filled with sorrow, honored her daughter’s memory in a deeply meaningful way. The service provided a space for reflection on the fragility of life and the importance of family bonds.
