Body of Bomet Woman Found Amidst Heated Confrontation

In recent days, two separate incidents have raised concerns in Machakos and Bomet counties, highlighting the ongoing challenges facing these communities.

In Machakos County, the lifeless body of 23-year-old Amos Walale was discovered floating on the banks of a river in the Kwa Mangeli area.

The body was found on the morning following an incident that had taken place on the night of Friday, September 13. Walale had been sought by the police after being involved in an assault against Timothy Tenya on the same evening.

According to local police, Walale was attempting to evade arrest when he fled towards the river. It is suspected that he might have drowned while trying to escape from the public and law enforcement officers.

The body was retrieved by police from the Athi River Police Station, who visited the scene to investigate and take the necessary actions.

The deceased's body has been transferred to Shalom Mortuary, where it will remain pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.

In a separate but equally troubling incident in Kabolwo village, Bomet County, tensions erupted during a women's table banking group meeting. Two girls were injured after a heated argument escalated into physical violence.

The altercation began when a group member accused one of the host's daughters of having an abortion, leading to a standoff among those present.

The situation intensified when the suspect, in a fit of anger, poured hot tea from a jug onto the two girls.

The injuries sustained by the victims were reportedly severe, prompting immediate intervention from the girls' mother and other members of the group. Despite their efforts, the suspect managed to flee the scene before the police arrived.

Local law enforcement is currently searching for the suspect involved in the tea-throwing incident.

Authorities have urged anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward as they continue their efforts to apprehend them and address the violence that occurred.

These incidents in Machakos and Bomet counties underscore the need for community vigilance and effective law enforcement to address and prevent such violence.
