Mugisha pointed out that many churches have shifted from their primary mission of preaching salvation, repentance, and righteousness. Instead, he claims, they have become money-making enterprises where individuals exploit worshippers for personal gain.

"The church has drifted from its real purpose and has become commercialized," Mugisha stated. "Once that happens, people will leave."

According to Mugisha, the shift from a focus on salvation to one of humanism and inspirational messages has led to a decline in genuine spiritual engagement.

He believes that many congregants are growing disillusioned with churches that seem more concerned with financial success than with the spiritual well-being of their members.


"When most pastors started, they were humble and for the people. Now, they are guarded like warlords. What are they afraid of?" he questioned.
