Kihara’s untimely death has sparked an outpouring of grief and support for his young family, as Kenyans rally behind them during this difficult time.

The accident occurred while Kihara was traveling from Nairobi to Thika Town. His car collided with a lorry in a high-impact crash that caused the vehicle to burst into flames. Sadly, the MCA was pronounced dead at the scene, unable to escape the burning wreckage. His body was later transported to Montezuma Funeral Home, awaiting a postmortem.

Authorities have begun investigating the accident, and the vehicles involved have been impounded at a local police station. Kihara’s tragic death has not only left his family devastated but also sent shockwaves throughout the community and beyond.

Following the announcement of Kihara’s death, social media was flooded with messages of condolences and encouragement. Many people expressed deep sympathy for Kihara's young widow, Jackline Wacera, and their children, who now face the future without their husband and father.

One social media user, Paul KE, poignantly reflected on the reality of loss, stating, "You'll never know until it knocks at your own door. They'll be there to console you during the day, but at the end, they'll be left alone, staring at empty space and a void that'll never be filled by anyone else."

Another Kenyan, Charity Kamau, extended her prayers, saying, "So sad. May God console them. Thanks, our able DP, for crying with them. God bless you."

The overwhelming sadness of losing a spouse at a young age was captured in a comment by Imani Zoe, who said, "The pain of being a widow at that age is not easy. May God give them comfort."

In a show of solidarity, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua visited Kihara’s family at their home in Thika, Kiambu County. The Deputy President spent time with the grieving family, offering prayers and condolences to the widow, Jackline Wacera, and her children. Gachagua committed the family to prayer, saying, "We ask that our Lord God comfort them during this difficult time."

Photos from the visit were shared on social media, showing the DP offering his support and comforting the mourning family. His visit was widely praised by Kenyans, who appreciated his empathy and involvement in the time of tragedy.

Ezra Kihara was widely recognized as a committed public servant who dedicated his life to improving his community. His colleagues in the county assembly and other leaders expressed deep sorrow at his passing. Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi lauded Kihara’s dedication and hard work, describing him as an invaluable leader whose contributions will be sorely missed.
