Man in Bomet Arrested for Indecent Act with Cow

In Olbutyo, Bomet, a 25-year-old man was arrested after being caught engaging in an indecent act with a cow.

The incident has shocked the local community and led to a swift response from both residents and law enforcement.

The incident occurred early in the morning, around 3:00 am, when Vincent Munai, a local resident of Kapsayalel village, discovered the suspect committing the act with his Friesian cow in the shed.

Munai immediately alerted the community, and about 40 other residents quickly gathered at the scene. The situation escalated, and the suspect faced mob justice, resulting in visible injuries to his head and left leg.

Following the attack by the mob, the suspect was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. After receiving medical care, he was placed in police custody. The authorities have confirmed that he will be taken to court to face charges.

In the meantime, the cow was also attended to. It was taken to a veterinary officer for examination and treatment, as it was important to ensure the animal's well-being after the incident.

The act committed by the suspect is considered a serious crime under Kenyan law. Bestiality, which involves engaging in sexual activities with animals, is classified as a felony in the Kenyan Constitution. 

According to Section 162(b) of the Penal Code, a person found guilty of having carnal knowledge of an animal can face imprisonment for up to 14 years. Furthermore, Section 163 of the Penal Code provides that anyone attempting to commit such an act can be sentenced to up to 7 years in prison.

The case has drawn significant attention from the public, highlighting the severity of such offenses and the strong reactions they provoke.
