Nuru Okanga, a die-hard supporter of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has made a public plea to Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, urging him to fulfill promises made to him during a past meeting.

The politician had vowed to upgrade Okanga's life by giving him financial assistance and helping him acquire a house under Kenya's affordable housing scheme. However, Okanga claims that most of these promises are yet to be realized.

Okanga and Sudi first crossed paths when they both appeared on the popular Obinna Show. It was during this appearance that Sudi expressed his admiration for Okanga and offered to help him improve his living conditions. Among the promises made was KSh 1.3 million in capital to help Okanga start a business and a three-bedroom house for his family.

Sudi instructed Okanga to visit his office, where he would be guided in selecting a house through the affordable housing initiative. According to Sudi, he would cover the cost of the house for Okanga's children.

"I want you to find a house under the affordable housing scheme, a three-bedroom one. I will buy it for your children," Sudi told Okanga during the show.

He also promised to deposit KSh 1.3 million into Okanga's account to help him start a business, although he noted that the transfer wouldn’t be immediate.

Despite these grand promises, Okanga recently took to social media to express his frustration, claiming that Sudi had not lived up to his word.

Okanga revealed that, so far, he had only received KSh 700,000 out of the promised KSh 1.3 million. He lamented that the MP had not yet shown him the house he was supposed to move into.

“I still haven’t been shown where the house is, and I haven’t received the rest of the KSh 1.3 million. Sudi, Kenyans know you are a man who delivers on your promises. I just need that KSh 600,000 so I can plan myself and move out of Jacaranda," Okanga said. He also hinted at the insecurity in Jacaranda, which he wishes to escape.

Okanga's public complaint has attracted mixed reactions from Kenyans. While some sympathized with his situation, many criticized him for appearing entitled and ungrateful, especially considering the KSh 700,000 he had already received.

One social media user remarked, “This guy is a joke. Someone gives you KSh 700,000, and you still demand more? The audacity.”

Another commenter shared similar sentiments, adding, “Even if someone gave me KSh 100,000 and promised me a house, I wouldn’t ask about it again. You can do a lot with KSh 700,000.”

On the flip side, a few people defended Okanga, saying that he had the right to ask for the fulfillment of the promises made to him.

Oscar Sudi had previously acknowledged his admiration for Nuru Okanga, even after the latter had accused him of pocketing KSh 350 million monthly from a garbage collection scheme in Nairobi.

Sudi revealed that he had been looking for Okanga, as he still intended to help him. According to Sudi, he even reached out to content creator Kimbi Kimbi to obtain Okanga’s contact information, but Kimbi did not provide it.

The current status of their communication remains unclear, and it is yet to be seen whether Sudi will fulfill the rest of his promises to Okanga.
