Sudi, a close ally of President Ruto, made these accusations in a recent social media post, warning Gachagua that they would not sit by and let him sabotage the regime. According to Sudi, the deputy president poured money into the protests, which led to violence and arrests, while now positioning himself as a defender of the youth.
“My boss, it’s no longer a secret that you are the mastermind behind the plan to oust our president,” Sudi said. He added that Gachagua’s actions could warrant prosecution for attempting to undermine the sitting government.

This statement followed Gachagua’s complaints that his staff and allies were being harassed by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The DCI had linked several individuals associated with Gachagua to the funding and planning of the Gen Z demonstrations.
The accused individuals included MPs and former lawmakers who allegedly met to mobilize resources for the protests, which were initially sparked by discontent over the Finance Bill 2024. Despite these accusations, Gachagua has denied any involvement, claiming the DCI was being used to justify his impeachment.
