President Ruto Orders Speedy Probe into Endarasha School Fire Tragedy

President William Ruto has called for a swift investigation into the tragic fire that occurred at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri, which claimed the lives of several students. 

The fire broke out on a Thursday night in one of the school’s dormitories, leaving the community in deep shock and sorrow.

In response to the tragedy, President Ruto met with top government officials, including Principal Secretaries from the Ministries of Interior and Education, to ensure that the investigation is given the highest priority. 

He expressed his concern over the incident and ordered that all efforts be made to find out the exact cause of the fire.

Kenya Power technicians have also been deployed to the school to examine the power connections, as electrical faults are often a potential cause of such fires. 

However, the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, and authorities are exploring all possible explanations. The area around the dormitory remains cordoned off as investigations continue.

The government has assured the public that the school will be reopened soon, ahead of the end-of-term exams. 

Education Cabinet Secretary and Interior Cabinet Secretary have been tasked with ensuring that all schools comply with safety regulations to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.

Authorities have promised that families affected by the fire will receive the support they need. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education is working closely with school management to ensure that students can safely return to their studies.
