The leaked chats focused on a discussion between Samidoh and Nyamu about a recent charity event Samidoh attended in his hometown of Nyandarua County.
The singer had attended the event with his wife, Edday, sharing photos from the occasion on social media. Shortly after that, Nyamu posted a video of her and Samidoh from 2019.
The timing of the video post fueled rumors and speculation about her intentions, as many assumed she was attempting to upset Edday by sharing intimate moments between her and the singer.
In response to the backlash, Nyamu defended herself in a political leadership WhatsApp group. She clarified that she had discussed the charity event with Samidoh, and they had both agreed he would attend it with Edday to make sure she didn’t feel excluded.
Nyamu went on to share their private conversations to prove that they had a mutual understanding about the event.
During their chat, Samidoh playfully told Nyamu to "stop joking" when she posted the 2019 video. In the conversation, Samidoh complimented her, saying she looked good, to which Nyamu responded by calling him "my husband."
The comment caught the attention of many social media users, leading to heated debates about whether Samidoh and Nyamu were married or not.
When asked about the comment, Samidoh clarified that he and Karen Nyamu are not legally married. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the singer said, "If we formalize our relationship, I will tell you guys."
He also expressed confusion as to why the old video was posted in the first place. According to Nyamu, she initially hesitated when Samidoh asked her to delete the video, but eventually took it down.
This revelation confirmed that while Samidoh and Nyamu share two children together, their relationship has not been formalized through marriage.
Despite their long-standing connection, Samidoh remains married to Edday Nderitu, with whom he shares additional children.
As if the drama between Samidoh, Nyamu, and Edday wasn’t enough, another rumor surfaced recently that Samidoh was involved with a US-based nurse, Gakui Wangui.
A video of Samidoh appearing cozy with Wangui went viral, adding more fuel to the ongoing drama. Nyamu’s social media accounts were bombarded with messages from fans asking whether the singer had a new side chick.
One fan commented, "Piga binja ti hapo na kuna side chick majuu" (meaning “your man has a side chick abroad”), to which Nyamu swiftly responded, dismissing the rumors. She called the accusations baseless, saying, "Story za jaba" (pure lies).
