A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday, September 8, 2024, near Katagondanahalli, Madhugiri, India, claiming six lives and leaving several others injured.

The incident involved two cars that collided head-on, resulting in immediate fatalities and devastating consequences for the families involved.

Among those who perished were three members of the same family, leading to heartbreak in their local community.

According to the police, one of the vehicles was traveling from Ethinahalli village toward Bangalore, carrying a total of seven people.

The car’s passengers included 62-year-old Janardana Reddy, his 34-year-old daughter Sindhuja, and his 8-year-old grandson Vedas Reddy.

Tragically, all three family members, along with the car’s driver, died instantly due to the impact of the crash.

The second car was en route from Bangalore to Karenallahi via Madhugiri. It was carrying two people, identified as Nagaruju, 34, and Sidhanangappa, 35.

The two cars collided with such force that six people lost their lives on the spot. The scene of the accident was chaotic, with both cars severely damaged and scattered debris across the road.

Emergency services arrived shortly after the accident and found a total of five survivors, including a 14-month-old baby. All of the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where two individuals remain in critical condition.

Doctors are working around the clock to save their lives as their families anxiously wait for updates. The baby, though seriously injured, is expected to survive after receiving urgent medical care.

Police in Tumakuru, the district where the accident occurred, have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision. Preliminary reports suggest that one of the cars may have lost control, leading to the head-on crash.

However, authorities are still gathering evidence, including witness statements, to determine the exact sequence of events.

Local residents have expressed shock and sorrow over the accident, especially because it claimed the lives of three family members traveling together.

Ethinahalli village, where Janardana Reddy’s family came from, is particularly shaken by the news. Many of the villagers knew the family and are mourning their sudden loss.
