Six people were tragically killed and 13 others were injured after a vehicle carrying church members lost control and crashed into a roadside tree on the Trichy-Chennai Highway in Tamil Nadu, India.
The group had been returning from visits to the Thiruchendur Murugan Temple and the Meenakshi Amman Temple when the driver lost control at high speed, leading to the fatal crash on September 25, 2024.
First responders quickly arrived at the scene, rescuing 13 injured passengers and transporting them to Villupuram and Mundiyambakkam government hospitals for urgent medical care. The deceased were taken to a government hospital for postmortem and formalities.
An investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the accident, with authorities speculating that speeding may have played a significant role.
