Mohamed has condemned the article as misleading and unfounded, accusing the paper of spreading false information about a recent event involving President William Ruto.
The controversy centers around a report about a supposed formal meeting between President Ruto and MPs. According to 'Daily Nation,' some MPs skipped a crucial meeting with the President.
However, Mohamed has clarified that the report misrepresented the facts surrounding the event of September 9, 2024. On that day, President Ruto was visiting the Kibera Soweto East Zone B Affordable Housing Project, which involves the construction of 4,054 housing units in one of Nairobi's largest informal settlements.
Following this project visit, the President hosted an informal lunch at Statehouse. This lunch was intended as a casual gathering with the MPs who had attended the project visit, not a formal meeting as suggested by the 'Daily Nation' article.
Mohamed emphasized that there was no official meeting scheduled or held on that day, contrary to what the newspaper's report implied.
Mohamed also criticized the 'Daily Nation' for relying on sources outside the official Statehouse channels. He argued that the newspaper's approach was irresponsible and misleading, as it did not reflect the accurate nature of the event.
According to Mohamed, all official communications and invitations from Statehouse are conducted through proper and formal channels. The use of unofficial sources for reporting, he suggested, undermines the credibility of news and misleads the public.
