A Section Of Western Leaders Has Sent This Stern Warning Against Replacing Wetang'ula Rumors

Kakamega County's Deputy Governor, Ayub Savula, has spoken out against rumors suggesting a plan to remove Moses Wetangula from his position as the Speaker of the National Assembly.

During a public address in Kakamega on Saturday, Savula emphasized that leaders from Western Kenya will not support any attempts to replace Wetangula, who is regarded as one of their own.

Savula expressed his strong belief in Wetangula's leadership abilities, particularly in his role as the chair of the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC).

He highlighted Wetangula's dedication to his duties, stating that there are no legitimate reasons to remove him from office.

According to Savula, Wetangula has shown remarkable commitment in his role and has been an effective leader in Parliament.

The Deputy Governor warned that any efforts to oust Wetangula would be ill-advised and could lead to political consequences for those involved.

He called out members of Parliament from other regions who are reportedly organizing to take Wetangula's position.

"Tell them that is akin to playing with fire," Savula stated, indicating that such actions would not be tolerated by Western leaders. He reiterated that Wetangula’s position as Speaker is secure and should not be challenged.

Savula's comments come at a time of political uncertainty in Kenya, particularly after the recent impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Wetangula played a crucial role in presiding over the sessions that led to Gachagua's ousting. The political landscape is shifting, and there are speculations that President William Ruto may make changes to his government if he is successful in upcoming court cases.

This speculation has led to concerns about Wetangula's future in the National Assembly.

Despite the swirling rumors, Wetangula has not publicly addressed the situation. His silence raises questions about the possible political maneuvers within the government and the loyalty of various leaders.

As the situation develops, Savula's staunch defense of Wetangula highlights the importance of unity among Western leaders and their commitment to supporting their own in the face of potential challenges.
