"Alicram Paper 3" Hilarious Memes Emerge from Mwengi Mutuse's Struggles During DP Gachagua's Impeachment Hearing

The Senate hearing for Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment has become a hot topic on social media, thanks to the viral memes that followed.

Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse, the mover of the motion against Gachagua, found himself in a challenging position during the cross-examination by DP Gachagua’s lawyer, Elisha Ongoya.

The hearing, centered on Gachagua facing 11 charges, took a dramatic turn when Ongoya, known for his tough questioning, scrutinized Mutuse’s evidence.

One particular moment that caught the attention of the public was when Mutuse struggled to respond to questions regarding a list of companies linked to Gachagua.

Ongoya sarcastically urged the MP to "compose yourself" and read the documents correctly, causing even more pressure on Mutuse.

At the heart of the debate was Gachagua’s alleged accumulation of KSh 5.2 billion in wealth since taking office in 2022.

Mutuse claimed he reached this figure based on his calculations, but Ongoya strongly disputed the accuracy of this information, calling it exaggerated and ridiculous.

As Mutuse continued to fumble through the questioning, Kenyans on social media quickly turned the tense hearing into an opportunity for humor.

Memes portraying the MP’s struggle began circulating online, with many poking fun at his apparent nervousness.

One user humorously speculated that “Mutuse is someone's pillar of strength,” while another joked that “his only option now is to faint.”

The memes have added a lighter note to what is otherwise a serious political matter, as the nation waits to see the outcome of Gachagua’s impeachment trial.

Some analysts have also pointed out that this moment has given Mutuse an unexpected spotlight, though not for the reasons he might have hoped.

On a broader level, the impeachment trial has sparked debate about President William Ruto’s motives for pushing Gachagua’s removal.

Lawyer Kibe Mungai criticized Ruto’s actions, suggesting that they reveal vulnerabilities in his political strategies and reliance on support from other parties, particularly the ODM.

As the trial continues, Kenyans are keeping a close eye on the proceedings, while also enjoying the humor that has emerged from an otherwise intense political showdown.
