Content creator and comedienne Dem Wa Facebook recently made headlines after a visit to her mother in Kitale.
During her time there, she expressed her love in a playful way by showering her mother with KSh 100 notes.
This visit, filled with joy and dancing, was shared on TikTok, where Dem was seen wearing a sleeveless denim top paired with matching trousers and yellow-black shoes. Her mother, on the other hand, looked lovely in a long silk Ankara dress.
In the video, Dem danced close to her mother and playfully tossed KSh 100 notes, also giving some directly to her.
She captioned the post, "Jackyline Nabwala Namai, I love you, my mother," showcasing the bond they share. However, this fun moment sparked mixed reactions from netizens.
While many enjoyed the light-hearted display of affection, some criticized her for throwing money around, suggesting it was inappropriate.
When reached for comment, Dem explained that the total amount she used was only KSh 1,000.
She clarified, “I was playing around, and I also wanted to see how people would react to that.” Her intention was to have fun with her mother, not to show off.
The reactions from social media were varied. Some users expressed envy, saying things like, "For those of us without mothers, let us grieve in our hearts."
Others cautioned her about flaunting money, with comments like, "That's where some go wrong. When you are blessed, learn to keep it within you."
Aside from her playful visit, Dem Wa Facebook is also making significant contributions to her family’s future.
She is currently building a three-bedroom house for her parents in their village, having already spent KSh 2 million on the construction.
The nearly completed house is already roofed, and she shared photos of the progress on her social media.
