I Will Never and I Will Not Resign, Gachagua Cautions, Hints at Heading to Courts as His Fate Hang In Balance

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is standing firm against rumors of his resignation ahead of a key impeachment debate scheduled for Tuesday.

In a press conference held on Monday evening from his office in Karen, Nairobi, Gachagua made it clear that he has no intention of stepping down.

The Deputy President described the idea of resigning as unfounded, stating that he has worked diligently and has done nothing wrong. “I have no plans to resign from this job,” he asserted.

Gachagua expressed confidence in the judicial system, stating that if Members of Parliament decide to impeach him, he is ready to take legal action.

He believes that the impeachment of a Deputy President elected by 7.2 million Kenyans is a significant issue that should not be taken lightly.

“I will fight to the end, and I trust that the judiciary will handle this issue fairly,” he added. Gachagua’s strong stance against resignation comes amid growing political tension, with some MPs pushing for his removal. He emphasized that anyone who thinks he will resign is mistaken and described such thoughts as a “joke.”
Gachagua reassured the public that he has been dedicated to his work and has prioritized the needs of Kenyans. He insisted that he would not be distracted by political maneuvers as he prepares to face his accusers in Parliament.

“I have not done anything wrong to these Kenyans. I work hard every day, and I will not be distracted,” he said.

He also confirmed that he would appear before the National Assembly at 5 PM on Tuesday, ready to confront the allegations against him. Gachagua urged his supporters and the public to remain calm and assured them that he is prepared to defend his record and reputation.
The situation remains tense as the impeachment debate approaches, but Gachagua’s determination to fight and his confidence in the judiciary could shape the outcome of this political battle.
