KANU Communications Officer Cornelius Ronoh Allegedly Abducted in Fedha, Embakasi

Cornelius Ronoh, a communications officer for the Kenya African National Union (KANU), has reportedly been abducted in a mysterious incident in Fedha, Embakasi East.

His sudden disappearance has raised alarm among his colleagues and the public, with concerns growing about his safety and whereabouts.

According to a statement by KANU’s Director of Communications, Manasse Nyainda, Ronoh was last seen on Monday evening when he was leaving a barber shop near Nyayo Gate B in Fedha.

He is a regular customer at the establishment. Ronoh's disappearance has come as a shock, particularly due to his prominent role as a digital commentator who often engages in discussions on governance and public policy.

Known for his vocal criticism of President William Ruto’s administration, Ronoh has built a significant following on social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter).

His outspoken posts have made him a notable figure in political spaces, where he frequently participates in discussions about government policies.
His abduction has triggered fear among political activists and commentators, as it follows a worrying trend of abductions involving young people speaking out on governance issues.

KANU has expressed outrage over the incident, describing it as a “brazen abduction” meant to instill fear and silence critics. In a strongly worded statement, Nyainda emphasized that Ronoh’s disappearance is a violation of his rights and urged the authorities to take swift action to locate him.

The party has sent its legal team to file an official report at the Embakasi East Police Station, demanding urgent intervention by law enforcement.

KANU is also calling on the government to ensure that if Ronoh is suspected of any offense, he should be brought before a court of law to face due process.

The party has condemned any attempts to resort to extrajudicial measures, stating that such actions are unacceptable in a democratic society.
