Jecinta Wacera, a woman from Kiamuruga village in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County, is in great distress following the mysterious disappearance of her husband, Peter.
Her husband, known by his employees as Karimi, vanished a week ago, leaving behind unanswered questions and growing fears among his family members.
According to Jecinta, Peter left their home on Monday, October 14, 2024, around 7 a.m.
He mentioned he was going to his butchery, where he usually works. Earlier that morning, however, Peter had collapsed at home, which alarmed Jecinta.
She called her uncle to assist in taking him to the hospital, but Peter refused to seek medical attention, insisting that he was feeling better.
When asked what was bothering him, Peter said he was overwhelmed with family issues but did not explain further.
Despite the concern over his health, Peter left home with his mobile phone and national ID as he headed to his business.
A few hours later, his employees called Jecinta to inquire if he had returned home because he had left his phone at the butchery, stating that he would step out briefly. When he did not return, Jecinta’s worry deepened.
After 24 hours of his disappearance, Jecinta reported the matter to the police, hoping they would help trace her husband.
She expressed her emotional pain, saying the family had searched for Peter in various hospitals and mortuaries but had not found any clues about his whereabouts.
Peter’s disappearance has also greatly affected his family. His parents are anxiously waiting for his safe return and have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
His mother noted that the incident has left the family in a state of despair, though they remain hopeful that he will return home soon.
