Morara Kebaso’s Life in Danger After Bomas of Kenya Attack, Team Confirms

Morara Kebaso, the leader of the Inject Party, is facing a serious threat to his life following a violent attack during a public forum held at Bomas of Kenya.

His team has raised alarms about his safety after unknown attackers targeted him during a heated discussion related to a motion seeking to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The incident has sent shockwaves through political circles, with Kebaso’s family and supporters expressing deep concern for his well-being.

The attack, which occurred on Friday, September 5, left Kebaso severely injured. His communication team issued a statement soon after, confirming that the politician is living in fear due to direct death threats he has been receiving since the attack.

According to the team, the threats were not only verbal but were backed by a detailed assassination plan. The individual behind the threats had shared specific information about when and where they planned to carry out the attack, leaving Kebaso and his family in a state of heightened fear.

The threats outlined that the assassination would take place at the headquarters of the Inject Party on a specific date, adding to the gravity of the situation. With such a clear and detailed threat, Kebaso’s team and family are taking no chances.

In the press release, they revealed that Kebaso is currently avoiding public appearances to protect himself and his family from further harm. The threats have forced him to cancel several planned events, including important meetings with his supporters and party members.

The Bomas of Kenya incident unfolded during a public participation forum, where Kebaso was one of the speakers addressing a special motion to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. In the middle of the discussion, a group of unknown attackers targeted Kebaso, beating him up and leaving him with serious injuries.

His lawyer, Pareno Solonka, later confirmed that the politician had sustained injuries to his head, neck, back, and legs. Solonka described the attack as brutal, revealing that Kebaso was in a bad state but is receiving treatment.

Kebaso’s wife, Mercy Morara, also shared her concerns regarding her husband’s health and safety. Speaking during a media briefing, she stated that the family is focused on ensuring Kebaso’s security amid the growing threats. She highlighted the emotional toll the situation has taken on their family and expressed hope that the authorities would act swiftly to bring those responsible to justice.

The communication team emphasized that these threats are being taken very seriously, and they are working closely with the authorities to ensure Kebaso’s protection. They also clarified that his absence from the press briefing was due to the severity of the threats, as the politician and his family remain under threat.

Meanwhile, political leaders and the public have been closely following the developments, with many expressing concern over the rising political tensions in the country. Kebaso’s team has urged authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and to provide adequate security to the Inject Party leader, who remains vulnerable to further attacks.

Supporters of Kebaso have been vocal in condemning the violence, with many calling for an end to political violence and intimidation. The attack on Kebaso has drawn attention to the dangers faced by political figures in Kenya, especially those involved in controversial debates and motions.
