Nairobi Mum Seeks Justice As Grade One Daughter Dies Mysteriously In School, Body Discovered In Dustbin

A Nairobi family is seeking answers after the mysterious death of five-year-old Chloe Masika, a student at Mihang'o Primary ECDE Centre.

Chloe, a Grade One pupil, was found dead in a dustbin at her school, a discovery that has left her family in shock and despair.

Her mother, Hellen Atunga, is demanding justice and clarity on how her daughter ended up in such a horrifying situation.

On the day of her death, Chloe was reportedly in perfect health. Hellen had prepared her daughter for school like any other day and handed her over to the family's domestic helper, who took her to school.

However, just a few hours later, tragedy struck. The family's helper went to pick Chloe from school, only to find out that the little girl was missing.

According to Hellen, the helper asked the other children if they had seen Chloe, but none of them seemed to know where she was.

Later, to the family's utter devastation, Chloe’s lifeless body was discovered in a dustbin at the school.

This finding has left Hellen questioning how her daughter could have ended up there. She also raised concerns that someone may have placed her in the bin and covered it.

As Hellen tries to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss of her child, she says it is impossible to accept that she now has to live with only two children instead of three.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Chloe’s death was caused by food blocking her airways, a condition that resulted from compression.

However, the circumstances leading to her death, particularly how she ended up in a dustbin, remain unclear.

Hellen and her family are now calling for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind the tragic incident.

This case has echoed a similar tragedy in Thika, where Patrick Bahati, an eight-year-old pupil at Pebbles Academy, also died under unclear circumstances.

The boy reportedly collapsed during a race at school and never regained consciousness, leaving his family devastated.

Both families are struggling to cope with their unimaginable losses and are demanding answers from school authorities to help them find closure.
