Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have identified Hashim Dagane Muhumed as the prime suspect in the murders of three women in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
The victims—Dahabo Daud Said, her daughter Amina Abdirashid Dahir, and family friend Nusayba Abdi Mohammed—were reported missing on October 21, 2024.
Their bodies were later discovered in different locations, sending waves of fear and anger through the community.
The investigation into this heinous crime began after the women disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
Dahabo, a well-known figure in the area, was last seen with her daughter and Nusayba, who had been visiting their home.
The search for the missing women ended tragically when their bodies were found. An autopsy revealed horrifying details about their deaths.
Dahabo's body was discovered with severe injuries; her hands were severed, and her throat had been slit. Amina had multiple stab wounds, including a fatal wound to her heart.
Nusayba had been sexually assaulted before being suffocated, highlighting the brutal nature of the crimes.
Detectives quickly turned their attention to Hashim Dagane after reviewing CCTV footage. The video captured Dagane driving a Nissan Note, registration number KDQ 718Y, on the day the women went missing.
In the footage, he is seen picking up the victims from their home in Eastleigh shortly before their bodies were found. This evidence played a crucial role in identifying him as a suspect.
The abandoned vehicle was later located at Wakulima Market, near the ENA Coach stage, and has since been taken to the DCI Headquarters for forensic examination.
Authorities believe that analyzing the vehicle will yield further evidence crucial to the case.
As the investigation unfolded, police took another significant step by arresting a woman who had claimed to be abducted alongside the victims.
This development raises more questions about the circumstances leading to the murders and the possibility of other individuals being involved in this horrifying case.
The police are keen to determine the woman's role and whether she can provide further insight into Dagane’s involvement.
The DCI is now appealing to the public for assistance in locating Hashim Dagane. They are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in solving such crimes.
The agency has expressed its commitment to bringing justice for the victims and their families.
The brutal nature of these murders has left the Eastleigh community in shock and mourning, leading to widespread calls for safety and justice.
The killings have raised concerns about the safety of women and children, prompting discussions on how to improve community safety and prevent such incidents in the future.
