No Wasting Time: Mudavadi Unveils His Comprehensive CV Amid Links To DP's Post

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has laid out his extensive career achievements as part of efforts to position himself as a contender for the Deputy President’s seat.

With the impeachment process against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua underway, Mudavadi is seen as one of the front-runners to succeed him if the Senate confirms the impeachment.

Mudavadi, whose political career began in 1989 when he was elected Sabatia MP, has served in various key government roles.

He was briefly Vice President in 2002 under former President Daniel Moi. During his 19 years as a Cabinet Minister, he held several portfolios, including finance, agriculture, transport, information, communication, and local government.

Mudavadi’s tenure in these ministries is marked by significant reforms, particularly in agriculture, where he oversaw the privatization of government corporations, making them profitable.

In addition to these roles, Mudavadi also served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Government between 2008 and 2012, where he was instrumental in the formulation of the National Urban Development Policy.

This policy aimed at improving urban planning and addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization in Kenya.

Mudavadi’s candidacy for the Deputy President’s seat is backed by his deep experience in governance and his proven track record of delivering reforms across different sectors.

As the lobbying intensifies, his supporters argue that his extensive experience in public service makes him the best candidate to deputize President William Ruto for the remainder of the current term.
