"None" Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital Denies Media Reports Of Women Sleeping On Floor, Sharing Beds In Maternity Ward

Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital has recently dismissed claims that mothers in their maternity ward are living in unsafe conditions.

These claims were made after a report aired on Citizen TV on October 19, showing footage of women sleeping on the floor and sharing beds in the hospital.

In response, the hospital management released a statement refuting the claims. They clarified that as of October 19, there were 100 mothers admitted to the maternity ward, and none of them were sleeping on the floor.

The hospital explained that while their maternity ward has a capacity of 56 beds, they ensure that every mother receives proper care and is not left without a bed.

The management also highlighted the number of deliveries that took place on the night of October 18.

A total of 19 successful births were recorded, with 12 normal deliveries and 7 caesarean sections, and there were no maternal deaths reported.

This, they said, shows their dedication to providing quality healthcare for mothers and newborns.

Moreover, the hospital assured the public that they prioritize the safety and dignity of every patient, despite the high number of mothers admitted.

They also maintain that the footage shown by the media does not accurately represent the current situation in the maternity ward.

Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital emphasized that their staff work hard to maintain a clean and infection-free environment for both mothers and babies.

They also stressed that no mother is ever turned away or left unattended, regardless of how busy the hospital gets.

In light of the media coverage, the hospital management invited reporters and journalists to visit their facilities to see the actual conditions and avoid spreading unnecessary panic or misinformation.

They reaffirmed their commitment to providing life-saving care to mothers and ensuring that every patient receives the best possible service.

By addressing these allegations directly, the hospital hopes to clear any confusion and assure the public that the conditions in their maternity ward are safe and secure for both mothers and their newborns.
