The family, from the Nyasio area, is now pleading for government intervention, fearing that they are being targeted by unknown people. The mysterious deaths have left them living in fear, and they suspect that there might be a plot to wipe out the entire family.
The most recent victims of this heartbreaking situation are 67-year-old Jane Nyaboke and her two daughters. Their bodies were discovered dumped in different thickets within Nyamira County, shocking both their family and the community.
The tragic events began when Nyaboke and one of her daughters, Edna, left their home on a normal day to run errands. When the two failed to return, the family grew concerned and began a search mission. Their worst fears were confirmed when they found out that both women had been murdered.
While still dealing with the shock of losing Jane and Edna, the family received more disturbing news: Nyaboke’s other daughter, Lorna Kerubo, had also gone missing. This added even more anguish to the already devastated family. Lorna’s body was later found dumped, just like her mother and sister.
This tragedy is not the first for the family, who have now lost six members in the past year. Peter Moturi, a relative, stated that five of these deaths occurred in just one month. He confirmed that the situation has caused the family great distress and fear.
“I went to the mortuary and confirmed that my mother and sister were dead. Two of my cousins and one child had also died earlier, under mysterious circumstances,” Moturi said.
The strange and sudden deaths have caused widespread concern among family members, leading to fears that they are being deliberately targeted. Bilhar Kerubo, another relative, expressed frustration with the situation and called on the authorities to intervene urgently.
“People are being killed like chickens,” she said, clearly distressed. The family believes that unknown individuals are behind these murders and are calling for justice and protection before more lives are lost.
While the grieving family demands answers, they are also accusing the police of dragging their feet when it comes to investigating the deaths. They feel that the officers are taking too long to uncover the truth and bring those responsible to justice.A
ccording to Abdalla Hamisi, a family member, “The officers are not doing their job well. People have been murdered, and they are not probing the case seriously.”
The family is also unhappy with the postmortem results, which have provided no clear answers about the cause of death. This lack of information has only added to their frustration, as they continue to search for justice and safety.
