P.A.G Bishop Found Alive After Mysterious Disappearance Ahead of Election

Bishop Patrick Lihanda, a prominent leader in the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (P.A.G) church, has been found alive after he was reported missing just days before a critical church election.

The bishop’s disappearance sparked concern across his family, church, and the wider community, but after days of uncertainty, a sense of relief washed over his loved ones when he was located on October 1 in Ukwala, Ugunja, Siaya County.

The 54-year-old bishop had been contesting for the role of general superintendent of the P.A.G church, a position that would give him significant influence over the direction of the religious institution. His sudden disappearance, ahead of this crucial election, raised alarm bells.

The incident was officially reported to Mbale Police Station under OB number 30/28/9/2024, and the police immediately launched a search.

During the search, Lihanda’s family requested the public to refrain from spreading rumors or making negative comments that might add distress to an already tense situation.

On October 2, the good news came that the bishop had been found. A statement from the P.A.G church confirmed that Bishop Lihanda was alive but in poor health.

He was discovered in a weakened state in Ukwala, Ugunja, and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. His family and church members have expressed relief but also concern for his physical and emotional well-being after the traumatic event.

David, the bishop’s son-in-law, spoke to TUKO.co.ke, providing more details about Lihanda's condition.

He confirmed that the bishop had been “beaten up a bit” during his ordeal, though he was receiving medical care and was stable. The family is deeply grateful to all those who prayed for his safe return, and they are hopeful that he will fully recover with continued support.

In a follow-up statement, the P.A.G church expressed their immense gratitude to everyone who had prayed and shown solidarity during the bishop’s disappearance.

They urged their members to keep the bishop in their prayers as he recovers. "We give God all the glory, no situation is permanent," the statement read, reassuring the church community that the ordeal would pass and that the bishop would soon be restored to health.

The circumstances of Bishop Lihanda’s disappearance remain unclear, but the event has raised questions about the tensions within the P.A.G church leading up to the election.

Some speculate that his abduction could be connected to political maneuvering within the church, with individuals or factions trying to disrupt the election process. However, at this time, no official explanation has been given for his abduction or the assault.

While the P.A.G church and the Lihanda family are focusing on the bishop's recovery, the police investigation into the disappearance continues.

Authorities are working to gather information and piece together the events leading up to the bishop’s abduction. The church has vowed to remain strong and united, and they hope that Lihanda’s safe return will mark the beginning of healing and peace within their community.
