Video Of Dorcas Gachagua Fighting Back Tears As Hubby Speaks After Being Discharged From Hospital Moves Many

Embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was discharged from The Karen Hospital on October 20, 2024, after being hospitalized a few days earlier.

His wife, Pastor Dorcas Gachagua, stood by his side as he addressed the media. The emotional scene moved many, especially when a video of Pastor Dorcas fighting back tears while her husband spoke was shared online.

In the video, Gachagua talked about the difficulties he has faced since being impeached and accused President William Ruto of wanting him dead.

He claimed his illness was part of the political struggle between him and the president. With his wife and sons by his side, Gachagua urged President Ruto to stop targeting his family and let them live in peace.

"Do whatever you want to me, but please leave my family alone. Don't kill us, don’t kill my children. You have caused me enough pain for the past year.

I was there for you when you needed someone. Please, allow me to have some peace if nothing else," Gachagua said during the press briefing.

His wife, Pastor Dorcas, was visibly emotional throughout the speech, and her tears struck a chord with many Kenyans.

Viewers praised her for standing strong by her husband's side during these challenging times. Their youngest son, Keith, was also present, standing behind his father as he addressed the media.

Gachagua's emotional appeal did not stop at the accusations of ill treatment. He also mentioned that his security had been withdrawn, which has raised concerns for his safety and that of his family.

The deputy president’s words reflected his deep frustration and fear, as he asked to be left alone and to be granted some peace amid the political turmoil.

The video of Pastor Dorcas holding back tears spread widely on social media, and many people expressed their sympathy and support for the family.

Kenyans praised Gachagua’s family for their unwavering support and resilience through his impeachment and the accompanying challenges.

They commended Pastor Dorcas for standing by her husband during his darkest times.

This incident follows Gachagua’s impeachment on October 17, when a majority of senators voted to approve 11 charges against him, including gross violations of the constitution.

Despite the political fallout, the deputy president emphasized that he still holds the position and will continue to fight for his place in government.
