Videos Emerge Of Rigathi Gachagua Dancing With Karen Nyamu Before 'Betrayal'

Vidoes of nominated Senator Karen Nyamu dancing with the impeached former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have resurfaced, causing a stir on social media. 

These videos and photos highlight the close relationship they once shared, but recent events have led to accusations of betrayal against Nyamu.

Nyamu was among the senators who endorsed Gachagua's impeachment in the Senate, despite their past interactions. 

Many Kenyans online have criticized her for supporting the move to remove Gachagua from office, with some pointing out how the two were seen in a friendly manner in the past. 

The videos show Nyamu and Gachagua dancing together, something that has now become a focal point for those questioning her loyalty.

In her speech during the impeachment proceedings, Nyamu subtly criticized President William Ruto for choosing Gachagua as his running mate, questioning Gachagua's political maturity. 

She called on future presidential candidates to choose running mates who possess a national outlook to prevent the kind of divisive politics that played out in Gachagua's case. 

Nyamu stated, “In the future, I want to call upon presidential candidates to make it a very critical attribute for their running mates to have political maturity and a national outlook. 

To some extent, we should put some blame on the president because we are wondering what he considered when he picked his running mate.”

The backlash against Nyamu grew after these comments, with many Kenyans accusing her of turning against someone she had previously been close to. 

Social media users have shared their thoughts, with one user commenting, “When you dance with the devil, the devil doesn’t change. The devil changes you.”

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi also drew attention during the impeachment hearing when he urged senators to take the matter seriously and avoid using the session to create viral TikTok videos. 

His comments were perceived by many to be aimed at Nyamu, given her involvement in the Gachagua debate and the videos that had resurfaced online.

Despite the criticisms, Nyamu remains firm in her stance, arguing that the choice of running mates must be better considered in the future to prevent similar situations from happening again.
