"Enough Is Enough" Leaders React After JCM Pastor Allegedly Slashes Wife In Nakuru

In Nakuru County, a tragic incident has shocked many after a pastor was accused of brutally attacking his lover.

Pastor Elias Njau, a preacher in Nairobi, allegedly stabbed Florence Wanjiku, a businesswoman, with a machete during a domestic dispute.

Reports say he also tried to harm her children, but neighbors intervened, saving them from the attack.

Florence suffered severe injuries, including head wounds and the loss of her fingers.

She is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Nakuru, where she is slowly recovering.

The police have launched a manhunt for the pastor, who fled the scene in Rongai Sub-county after the attack.

Florence and Njau were not only in a romantic relationship but also co-investors in a real estate business in Nakuru.

The reason behind the violent attack is yet to be confirmed.

Governor Anne Waiguru has condemned the attack and urged the police to speed up investigations and bring the suspect to justice.

Speaking out on social media, Waiguru stated, “This incident is tragic and unacceptable.

Disagreements should never lead to violence. Gender-based violence has no place in our society. I pray for Florence’s quick recovery.”

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba also condemned the act, noting that violence against women has become alarmingly common.

She called for stricter actions to address such cases, adding that Florence’s story is just one of many.

Wamuchomba shared another recent case where a 70-year-old woman was brutally attacked in Githunguri while delivering milk early in the morning.

This incident comes shortly after President William Ruto vowed to fight gender-based violence in Kenya.

He instructed law enforcers to take swift action against perpetrators and launched a campaign to create awareness about the dangers women face.

The president has also pledged support for survivors of such attacks, emphasizing the importance of justice and safety for women.

The attack on Florence Wanjiku has sparked widespread condemnation, with leaders and citizens calling for an end to violence against women.
