Ex-DP Gachagua Has Sent This Message To Ruto After Being Kicked Out Of Power

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua recently addressed his relationship with President William Ruto following his impeachment, expressing no ill will toward the President.

Speaking at a funeral in Kirinyaga on Saturday, November 2, Gachagua emphasized his support for Ruto’s leadership and hinted that he would not pursue legal action against his removal.

Instead, he extended an open invitation for Ruto to return to Mt. Kenya to seek the region’s backing for his 2027 re-election campaign.

Gachagua stated that his priority is to allow Ruto and the current administration to fulfill the promises made to Kenyans during their campaign.

He expressed his belief that leaders in power should be given the space to deliver on their mandates, especially with only two years remaining before the next general election.

He urged fellow politicians and the public to exercise patience and give the government time to work.

Reflecting on his tenure as Deputy President, Gachagua expressed pride in his efforts to address pressing issues in Mt. Kenya, particularly regarding the youth.

He highlighted his focus on combating alcohol and substance abuse, which he said had been damaging to the dignity and future of many young people in the region.

His dedication to this cause, he remarked, was a major part of his work while in office.

In addition to addressing substance abuse, Gachagua also worked on reforming Mt. Kenya’s coffee and tea industries.

His goal was to rid the sector of cartels and ensure that farmers receive fair returns for their hard work.

However, he encountered challenges in pushing these reforms through Parliament. He cited the delay in passing the Coffee Bill 2023 and the Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, which stalled for over a year.

Gachagua called on MPs to prioritize these bills and move forward with the same urgency that led to his impeachment.
