Kasmuel McOure, a respected philanthropist and emerging political figure, has dismissed claims that he intends to compete with Raila Odinga, one of Kenya's most influential leaders.
Speaking to reporters in Nairobi, McOure stated clearly, "Let me say this plainly: I have no need, nor any intention, to challenge Raila Odinga.
He is a statesman, and I respect his contribution to our nation."
Rumors had been circulating that McOure, known for his growing popularity among the youth and grassroots communities, was positioning himself as an alternative to Odinga’s dominance in the Nyanza region.
However, McOure stressed that his goal is to serve the people, not to create unnecessary divisions in politics.
"Raila has done so much for Kenya, especially in the fight for democracy. My work is not to compete with him but to complement the efforts of leaders like him," McOure explained.
McOure spoke passionately about his priorities, which include addressing challenges like youth unemployment, improving healthcare, and supporting education.
"Our people need solutions to their problems. That’s where my focus is. I’m here to work for the people, not for personal glory," he emphasized.
He also touched on his community-based programs that empower small businesses and provide opportunities for women and youth.
These initiatives, McOure clarified, are driven by his desire to uplift the community and not by political ambitions.
During the press conference, McOure openly praised Raila Odinga, calling him a role model for young leaders.
"We cannot ignore Raila’s sacrifices and dedication to this country. He’s a pillar of democracy, and we all need to learn from him," McOure said.
He added that his respect for Odinga goes beyond politics. "It’s about appreciating the people who paved the way for us. Raila’s legacy is one we should build on, not fight against."
McOure ended his speech by calling for unity among leaders. "Kenya needs us to work together. Let’s stop spreading rumors and focus on serving our people. That’s what true leadership is about."
