Kisumu Businessman Visiting Home For Christmas Nabbed After Allegedly Killing 2 relatives With Machete For This

In Kisumu County, a 24-year-old man from Agoro area in Nyakach has been arrested for allegedly killing his 10-year-old brother and nephew during a visit home for the Christmas holidays.

The horrifying crime took place on November 26, 2024, in Kamango village, leaving residents in shock and mourning.

The suspect, who had traveled from Nairobi with his nephew, a Grade One pupil, arrived home on November 25 for the festive season.

The tragedy unfolded when he had a disagreement with his mother over where he should sleep.

Due to limited space, his mother suggested he sleep at a neighbor’s house, but the suspect was not pleased with the idea.

After some persuasion, the mother allowed him to stay in the family house with his younger brother and nephew.

The next morning, the situation took a tragic turn. The suspect approached his mother with disturbing news, claiming that an “unknown spirit” had killed his brother and nephew.

Alarmed, the mother rushed to the scene and found her two family members lifeless.

She immediately alerted the neighbors, and they restrained the suspect until police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrived.

Chief Daniel Otondo, the area chief, described the suspect as eerily calm and unrepentant.

He kept repeating that the devil had influenced his actions. Witnesses who were first on the scene were stunned by the brutality of the crime.

“It’s unimaginable that a man could do this to his own family. We’re struggling to understand what led to such horror,” said Joseph Ochieng, a villager.

As investigations continue, the bodies of the victims were taken to the local mortuary.

Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the murders. Chief Otondo urged families to seek assistance when dealing with conflicts, emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes peacefully to prevent similar tragedies.
