Speaking at a church service in Murang’a on Sunday, November 24, 2024, Gachagua expressed his gratitude to Mt. Kenya residents for how they handled the situation.
Gachagua distanced himself from the rumors surrounding Kuria's humiliation, explaining that the reactions were spontaneous and not planned.
He praised the residents for listening to his earlier advice to remain peaceful even when aggrieved.
Referring to an incident where people started singing to silence Kuria, Gachagua said it showed how deeply his people respect his guidance.
“I told you we can’t destroy our own property when we are unhappy. Instead, I advised you to keep quiet or sing if you can’t hold it in.
Yesterday, I saw that you listened to me, and I’m proud of you for responding appropriately,” Gachagua remarked.
In his speech, Gachagua also criticized Members of Parliament for applauding President William Ruto after canceling controversial deals linked to Indian billionaire Gautam Adani.
He argued that the cancellation only happened after the billionaire was indicted in the U.S. and was not driven by the president's original intentions.
Gachagua revealed that he had warned Ruto about the deals long before they became a public issue, but his advice was ignored.
He expressed disappointment in other leaders who, according to him, fear speaking the truth to the president.
"Nobody else can tell the president the truth. Even Cabinet secretaries would send me with messages they feared delivering themselves," he stated.
The former Mathira MP also used the church platform to share a Bible verse about the rise and fall of Samson.
Gachagua hinted that despite his impeachment, he would return stronger and reclaim his position in politics.
Gachagua’s visit to Murang’a came shortly after residents rejected speeches from Kenya Kwanza leaders at a funeral.
