Speaking during a sermon at PCEA Bahati, Reverend Muriithi expressed his frustrations with the Kenya Kwanza administration, accusing it of misleading citizens.
“There are too many lies in our country,” said Muriithi. “They promise to do certain things for Kenyans, but they don’t follow through.
When we, as the church, point this out, they say we are wrong. But let me remind them, God can never lie to us.”
The reverend also addressed the struggles many Kenyans face, particularly in healthcare.
He criticized the Social Health Authority (SHA), claiming it has worsened conditions in hospitals and left Kenyans suffering even more.
“People are dying because they can’t access proper healthcare,” Muriithi said.
“Instead of making things better, the SHA has created more problems for ordinary Kenyans.”
Reverend Muriithi did not just voice his concerns. He went a step further by hinting at leading demonstrations to demand justice and better governance.
“When I call you for maandamano (demonstrations), please come,” he urged his congregation.
“I will lead the people and say, haki yetu (our rights). If necessary, we might even march to the State House. No one should mess with us.”
The reverend assured his followers that his intention is to push for accountability and improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
Muriithi also criticized the government’s claims that the church was wrong to demand truth and better services.
He emphasized the role of religious institutions in speaking up for the people.
“We are the voice of the people,” he said. “When the government does not listen to its citizens, it is the duty of the church to speak out.
I am asking our leaders to change so that our country can thrive.”
