Peris Njeri Njeru, a 20-year-old woman from Embu, recently opened up about a disturbing and dangerous relationship she had with a married police officer.
What seemed like a promising love story turned into a nightmare that left her fearing for her life.
Peris met the officer when she was young and the relationship started off with excitement and hope.
However, everything changed when Peris found out she was pregnant.
She had already fallen deeply in love with the officer, but after breaking the news, he became distant and began ignoring her calls.
Despite his earlier advice for her not to terminate the pregnancy, the officer suddenly withdrew from her life.
In her quest to find answers, Peris eventually tracked down her lover. She was told by one of his colleagues that he had lied about attending a family burial.
Instead, he had been transferred to a different post. Peris managed to visit him at his new location, which turned out to be a remote police camp.
There, she expected to find comfort and support, but instead, she was subjected to strict control and abuse.
Once at his house, Peris was confined to the premises for a full week.
She was not allowed to leave and was warned that leaving could damage the officer’s reputation.
During this time, she had no choice but to help herself inside a basin as there were no proper facilities for her. The officer’s behavior became increasingly unpredictable and threatening.
One of the most terrifying moments for Peris occurred when she confronted the officer about his infidelities.
She found out he was not only married to three wives but had also impregnated another woman while still being involved with her.
Enraged by her confrontation, the officer allegedly placed a gun on the bed and told Peris that he could easily kill her and dispose of her body without anyone knowing.
He made it clear that he was capable of ending her life if she pushed him too far.
The officer's behavior escalated to the point where Peris felt completely trapped and fearful for her safety.
She was locked in the house, isolated from the outside world, and unable to escape the terrifying reality of her situation.
Peris was left with no choice but to seek outside help to break free from the dangerous environment she was in.
